Victory for Housing in Cupertino!

Posted In:

We’re thrilled to share that the Cupertino City Council unanimously approved SummerHill Homes’ 59-unit townhome project on Stevens Creek Boulevard—a major win for housing and a project the Bay Area Council proudly supported.

Located on an underused retail site, this development will bring 59 new homes to the heart of Cupertino, including 12 affordable for-sale units for moderate- and median-income households, which are some of the hardest housing types to deliver in California. The project aligns with the city’s development standards and thoughtfully uses the state Density Bonus Law to provide much-needed housing near jobs, schools, and transit.

We fought hard for this project because it reflects what the Bay Area needs more of: smart infill development that helps cities meet their state housing goals while creating opportunity for families at all income levels. We’re grateful to the City Council for its leadership and look forward to more wins like this across the region.
