Council Applauds Exciting Campaign to Celebrate, Promote San Francisco

A consortium of San Francisco business leaders this week (Oct. 19) launched a groundbreaking multimedia campaign to remind the world why San Francisco has been, and will always be, one of the greatest cities. The unveiling at Oracle Park was hosted by San Francisco Giants CEO and Bay Area Council Executive Committee member Larry Baer, highlighting the significance of the occasion.

With the goal of inspiring a more equitable, resilient and vibrant economy, the non-profit organization Advance SF worked with Goodby Silverstein & Partners (GS&P) to create “ It All Starts Here,” a multimedia campaign to assert San Francisco’s role as an innovative and thriving hub for business and the arts. The campaign launches as San Francisco is leading the way in artificial intelligence and bioscience and prepares to host global business leaders and government officials for the 2023 Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Leaders’ Meeting, chaired by President Biden from November 11-17.

With a $4 million budget funded by Gap Chair Bob Fisher and Ripple CEO Chris Larsen, the “It All Starts Here” campaign brings together dozens of the city’s leading employers and businesses, including Gap Inc., Levi’s, Lyft, OpenAI, SF Giants, and Uber, to showcase the city’s vibrancy and innovation to the world through outdoor and digital advertising.

The campaign will officially launch to the public at the Civic Pride Festival, scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 21 at the East Cut Crossing at 200 Folsom Street, with live music, free food, and small business vendors. This festival is an open invitation for the broader community.

San Francisco is on the cusp of a remarkable resurgence, proving once more that it is a place where dreams take flight, where the impossible becomes possible, and where the future is not just imagined but created. As we eagerly anticipate the campaign’s city-wide rollout, it’s clear that, despite its challenges, the next iteration of San Francisco is once again positioned to captivate and inspire the world.
