Hire Together 2.0 – Connecting the Region’s Future Workforce

On Thursday, students and job seekers from throughout the region gathered (virtually) to hear from some of the region’s leading employers. The Bay Area Council, in partnership with Silicon Valley Leadership Group, Bay Area Community College Consortium, and Ohlone College, co-hosted a second virtual Career Fair that reached nearly 1,000 students and job seekers through resume collection boxes with 250 attending the virtual employer Q&A session. Council members including Bank of America, East Bay Municipal Utility District, HNTB, Postmates, Raley’s, SFPUC and US Bank met with students to share insights on how students and job seekers can approach their application process and land the job.

Seventeen employers participated in the Hire Together 2.0 Virtual Career Fair, with each employer receiving, on average, over 90 resumes through the collection boxes.  The Council looks forward to continuing to connect students and job seekers from the region’s community colleges, 4-year universities, online education and training partners with leading employers in the region as the Bay Area works toward economic recovery from COVID-19. To learn more and get involved, please reach out to Henry Bartholomay, Policy Manager
