Warriors, MUNI Team Up for Slam Dunk on Transit

The Golden State Warriors are teaming up with MUNI to promote transit ridership. The Bay Area Council’s Transportation Committee this week heard from Warriors Director of Transportation Demand Management Manoj Madhavan about a new program the team has unveiled in which tickets to Warriors games and other events at Chase Center in Mission Bay will also serve as a free pass on MUNI. San Francisco Municipal Transportation Authority Interim Director of Transportation Tom Maguire and Acting Director of Transit Julie Kirschbaum joined Madhaven in describing the program, which is part of the Chase Center Transportation Plan. The plan also includes bike valet service and connections to regional ferry service. Thank you to member company Uber for hosting the meeting and helping lead a broader discussion on the importance of expanding public transit partnerships like those between the Warriors and MUNI. To engage in the Council’s transportation policy work, please contact Senior Vice President Gwen Litvak.
