Save The Date: Opportunity for All Summit: Affirmative Action in California

On Oct. 2 from 10 a.m. to 12noon, the Bay Area Council will be hosting the Opportunity for All Summit presented by Kaiser Permanente and featuring top leaders talking about affirmative action in hiring, the role of business in advancing racial equity and a measure on the November ballot (Prop. 16) to undo a ban on affirmative action passed by voters in 1996. The event will feature a panel of top leaders of many of the Bay Area’s professional sports teams, including SF 49ers CEO Jed York, SF Giants CEO Larry Baer, Oakland A’s President Dave Kaval, Earthquakes COO Jared Shawlee, and Oakland Roots Chair Steven Aldrich. York, Kaval and Baer all serve on the Council’s Executive Committee. These and other teams, including the Golden State Warriors, have all endorsed Prop. 16.
