We’ve got a terrific Hall of Fame program this year presented by Kaiser Permanente. This marks the 25th anniversary of the Hall of Fame and we’re excited to be honoring three great leaders. Dr. Susan Desmond-Hellmann was the first female Chancellor of UC San Francisco during a remarkable 30-year career in which she also led break-through cancer discoveries at Genentech and later served as CEO of the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. Over three generations, the Trefethen Family has been a Napa Valley winemaking pioneer and philanthropic giant. We’ll also be honoring Bernard J. Tyson with posthumous induction. The Chairman and CEO of Kaiser Permanente from 2013 until his sudden passing in 2019, Bernard was one of the most powerful, respected and influential healthcare leaders in the nation who served as Chair of the Bay Area Council from 2017-19.
To make it even better, we’re extremely excited to have Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell as keynote speakers. In the wake of what will be an extraordinary election and in the midst of one of the worst economic downturns in generations, you’re going to hear timely insights from two of the nation’s most powerful leaders.
Albeit virtually, we promise an exciting, interactive and star-studded show. Your support of this event is vital in ensuring the Council can continue to fight for our region, our businesses and economy and our quality of life.
