On June 21, the Bay Area Council hosted the 2019 Pacific Summit presented by Kaiser Permanente at the stunning Julia Morgan Ballroom with Governor Gavin Newsom and business and government leaders from countries around the Pacific Rim to explore the major political, economic, cultural and social trends that are shaping our world and the Pacific region. In what some have called “The Century of the Pacific,” California’s relationship with its top trading partners specifically on trade, artificial intelligence, climate change, transportation and healthcare will have global impact. The summit featured a series of short, engaging talks by leading thinkers and doers coupled with roundtable group discussions on these topics focused on shaping and deepening California’s relationship with our trading partners.
