Description

For the past 12 years, the Bay Area Council has brought together leaders across the region to commemorate the contributions of the Chinese and Chinese American communities to the Bay Area’s culture and economy. This year, Council’s legendary Lunar New Year Spring Festival Celebration will return in-person to the Bay after two years of virtual attendance. We’re thrilled to honor Jay Xu, Director and CEO of the Asian Art Museum, with the Bay Area Council 2023 Global Leadership Award for promoting Bay Area-China relations through art, for situating the museum even more prominently on the global map, and for bringing contemporary Asian art to Bay Area and US audiences.

Please join us on February 16, 5:30pm-8:00pm on the historic Klamath (Pier 9, Embarcadero, San Francisco) for a night of modern Chinese culture, music, and food, as we usher in the year of the rabbit. In the Chinese culture, rabbit is a symbol of peace, longevity, and luck. We’re hoping that the year of the rabbit will bring us harmony, prosperity, and success.

The honoree of the Bay Area Council’s Global Leadership Award and participating artists will be announced soon. The event is free to all Bay Area Council members and special guests.
