Meeting with Chinese Ambassador Promotes Economic Partnership

Posted In:

Over the last several years US-China tensions have reached high levels. Recent meetings between American and Chinese officials, however, have opened a path to improved diplomatic ties. The Bay Area Council has always been a proponent of constructive dialogue and mutually beneficial cooperation between the US and China. Last week during his visit to Washington D.C., Council CEO Jim Wunderman met with Chinese Ambassador to theUnited States Xie Feng. They discussed the importance of sub-national ties, the long-standing relationship between the Bay Area Council and China, and ways that the Bay Area and California can work with China to achieve mutual benefit.

For the last five consecutive years, the Bay Area Council has been helping California companies promote their products and services to Chinese customers by hosting California Pavilion at the China International Import Expo (CIIE)  – the world’s largest import themed exhibition which attracts importers from every province in China and across every industry. If you’re interested in learning more about California Pavilion and the CIIE scheduled for November 5-10 in Shanghai, please contact Global Marketing and Projects Manager Karina Salomatina .
