Member Spotlight: Hitachi

When you think of fast cars, Hitachi may not be the first name that comes to mind. But Hitachi won big last weekend when the Team Penske No. 2 Dallara/Chevrolet that it sponsors took the checkered flag at the 2019 NTT IndyCar Series Championship at the Firestone Grand Prix of Monterey, held at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca. Hitachi’s automotive technology was a key part of the win; it provides gasoline direct injection components for the Chevrolet 2.2 liter, twin-turbocharged V-6 race engines that power Team Penske’s racecars.
