43rd U.S. Treasurer “Pays” Visit to the Klamath

Posted In:

The Bay Area Council welcomed a special visitor this week who you may know from her signature on your cash – 43rd Treasurer of the United States Rosie Rios. Rios was the longest-serving Senate-confirmed Treasury official, a journey which began with her service on the Treasury/Federal Reserve Transition Team in 2008 and culminated with her tenure as Treasurer until 2016.

More recently in 2022, President Biden appointed her Chair of the U.S. Semiquincentennial Commission—a Congressional Commission tasked with planning the 250th celebration of the formation of the United States in 2026. Rios toured the Klamath with CEO Jim Wunderman and was a big fan of our floating HQ. Be sure to get your tickets to America’s 250th birthday celebrations aboard early (joking)! Thank you for joining us, former Treasurer Rios, we can’t wait to see what you are planning for the years ahead!
