Launched in 2021, the Northern California Apprentice Network (NCAN) brings together leadership from major employers, the public sector, community colleges, non-profit training providers, apprenticeship intermediaries, and funders to scale apprenticeship programs as a vehicle of economic mobility and career access. Apprenticeships provide a viable talent solution for business while opening the door to well-paid roles for diverse and underrepresented talent across the region.
The Northern California Apprentice Network provides an open forum for all Northern California employers to learn from each other about the benefits and best practices of quality apprenticeship programming. NCAN supports both employer adoption of apprenticeships, as well as provides a platform for workforce providers to engage in a community-of-practice that supports their apprenticeship creation goals.
Mission: The Northern California Apprentice Network (NCAN) will create, coordinate, and expand apprenticeship programs in new industries across the Northern California region to better prepare the workforce of tomorrow.
