Michael is Workforce Policy Associate for the Bay Area Council, focusing on the future of work, workforce development, and education. In his role, he supports programming that builds an inclusive, future-ready workforce, strengthens pipelines from education to high-quality hiring, builds opportunities for alternative training pathways, and promotes industry-driven workforce alignment. Michael helps lead the Bay Area Council’s Workforce of the Future Committee, AI literacy programs, and Northern California Apprenticeship Network.
Prior to joining the Bay Area Council, Michael served with the California Governor’s Office of Business and Economic Development (GO-Biz). At GO-Biz, he engaged with employers, government & policymakers, economic developers, and workforce providers statewide to support job creation and execute sector-based growth strategies across essential California industries.
Michael’s history with California State service began in 2021 when he served as a California Council on Science & Technology (CCST) Fellow, after completing his Ph.D in Chemical Engineering & Materials Science from the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities.
In his spare time Michael enjoys spending time at the beach, dancing, and picking up new hobbies & creative skills.
