Julian Lake is the Senior Policy Director of Climate and Energy for the Bay Area Council, where he works with the Council’s member organizations to advance initiatives that increase clean renewable energy generation in the state, mitigate climate emissions from high polluting sectors, and improves climate resilience in the regions most underserved communities. In addition to his role at the Bay Area Council, Julian serves as a Commissioner at the San Jose Airport Commission and oversees policies related to the San Jose Mineta Airport before they head to the San Jose City Council.
Prior to joining the Council, Julian served as an advisor on transportation and environmental policy for San Jose Mayor Sam Liccardo, working closely on VTA’s BART to Silicon Valley Phase II Project. Julian received his Bachelor of Arts from the University of California Berkeley, and Master of Public Policy from the University of Chicago Harris School. Julian spends most of his free time watching basketball, reading comic books, and playing tabletop games.
