Skelton: Sen. Feinstein Should Be Able to Retire on Her Own Terms

Posted In:

Sen. Dianne Feinstein has dedicated her life to public service and the Bay Area Council has been extremely proud to work with her on numerous initiatives over many decades to benefit California and the Bay Area. So we wholeheartedly agree with Los Angeles Times columnist George Skelton who this week pushed back against misguided critics who have suggested that she’s too old for the job and that it’s time for her to step down.

In describing Feinstein’s many ground-breaking accomplishments, Skelton quoted former San Francisco Chronicle editor Jerry Roberts: “She deserves great respect. She was a political pioneer in advancing the cause of equality of women in electoral politics and it is sad if not disgusting — as well as sexist as hell — to see and hear political operatives and hacks with no sense or regard for history attack and dismiss her.” Nuff said.
