The Bay Area Council was honored to host the California Stewardship Network (CSN) aboard the Klamath for the 2025 CSN Spring Exchange from June 23-25. The CSN is comprised of regional leaders and organizations from across the state focused on advancing inclusive, sustainable economic growth across California. The Exchange served as a platform for lively discussions on the future of public transit, the implications of AI and federal funding cuts, the economic fallout from mass deportations, wildfire threats, climate resilience and more. Each topic was accompanied by tangible, solutions-oriented ideas.

In addition to hosting the 2025 California Stewardship Network Spring Exchange, Estevan Lopez, Research Analyst with the Economic Institute was elected as a Co-Vice Chair of the CSN Executive Committee. His term officially started July 1st, he will serve as Co-Vice Chair for a two-year term.

Attendees also enjoyed a ride across the Bay on the SF Bay Ferry, a spontaneous walking tour of the Jack London Business Improvement District, a firsthand look at BART’s new fare gates and train cars followed by a behind-the-scenes tour of Oracle Park and Giants game. The group was treated to local hospitality at Council member Hotel Caza and took in sweeping views of San Francisco from the Klamath and the ballpark – making it a memorable celebration of the city’s and region’s vibrancy, complexity, and promise.
