Council Helps Win Approval for Textbook-Perfect Housing Development in Cupertino

In a win for homeownership in Silicon Valley, the Bay Area Council this week (June 10) helped member company SummerHill Homes win approval for 59 homes on Stevens Creek Boulevard at the Cupertino Planning Commission, which voted to unanimously support the project. This project checks all the right boxes for Cupertino and the region. It transforms an underutilized commercial site into much-needed housing, including 12 deed-restricted, affordable for-sale units.
Affordable ownership opportunities are incredibly rare in California, and this project helps fill that critical gap, especially for moderate-income households who are increasingly priced out of the communities where they work.
