SEN. FEINSTEIN’S LEG DIRECTOR SHARES INSIGHTS ON FEDERAL WATER POLICY

A packed room of Bay Area Council Water Committee members were treated to a lengthy discussion today (May 28) on the politics and policy driving federal water legislation with special guest John Watts, Legislative Director for Senator Dianne Feinstein. Watts shared the Senator’s goals on facilitating water transfers, protecting the environment, and reinforcing the policy priorities expressed by California voters through the passage of Proposition 1, and took water policy recommendations from Council members on such topics as expedited recycled water permitting, strengthening water infrastructure financing, and supporting entrepreneurship and innovation in the water sector.
