Council Uncorks “Spirited Discussion” Speaker Series
Join us on Thursday, October 5 from 4:00pm – 5:00pm for the first installment of the Bay Area Council’s “Spirited Discussion” series featuring BART Board member Debora Allen, who has represented BART District 1 in Contra Costa County since 2016. Allen, who has been a fierce advocate for BART riders’ safety and overall satisfaction, as well as a vocal proponent for greater fiscal responsibility and accountability in the agency, will share an overview of how the agency can focus on the rider experience to attract riders back to the system and other plans to help avoid the “fiscal cliff” that looms over BART and the region as early as 2025. The discussion, hosted in person on the Historic Klamath ferry, will feature a brief presentation and an opportunity for Q&A with Allen, followed by a networking reception.
The Council’s “Spirited Discussion” series will continue on a monthly basis featuring a new special guest each round as an opportunity to learn more about a pressing policy issue, engage in a lively discussion, and network with the featured guest and fellow Bay Area Council members.
