Natural Resources Sec. Crowfoot Shares Insights with Council’s Water & Climate Resilience Committee
The Bay Area Council on Monday (Sept. 28) welcomed California Natural Resources Agency Secretary Wade Crowfoot for a conversation with our Water & Climate Resilience Committee hosted by Jacobs where he reflected on the past eight years and offered some predictions for what is ahead for California.
Secretary Crowfoot was particularly proud of progress in reducing wildfire acres burned through a combination of new investments in fire prevention, home hardening, and regional-scale wildfire leadership and governance. He also expanded upon the need to speed projects to strengthen statewide resilience to climate change while keeping water and other resources affordable.
Sec. Crowfoot’s visit came just hours after the Governor announced he had signed AB 2051 (Wicks), Bay Area Council-sponsored legislation to speed permitting timelines for coastal resilience projects.
