FEDS SEEK BAY AREA COUNCIL INPUT ON CYBERSECURITY

Coinciding with the annual RSA Conference in San Francisco, the Bay Area Council convened two member roundtables with federal officials this week on cybersecurity. The far-reaching discussion covered topics from critical infrastructure to the DHS effort to partner with state and local government on cybersecurity.

On Wednesday (Feb. 26), members had the opportunity to meet with a team from the Department of Homeland Security.  On Thursday (Feb. 27), members met with six representatives of the National Security Council. Members took the opportunity to ask questions ranging from multilateral trade implications of cyber crime to next steps in execution of President Obama’s Executive Order on Cybersecurity and Critical Infrastructure and subsequent National Institute of Standards and Technology framework. The Bay Area Council appreciates the commitment of Administration officials in maintaining an open dialogue with industry over these priority issues.
