AI for All Workshop Focuses on Helping Small Businesses

More than 80 small business leaders recently (Aug. 27) participated in a free AI literacy workshop hosted by OpenAI as part of their partnership with the Bay Area Council in AI for All, a program focused on expanding AI access and education.

The in-person training held in San Jose gave participants an overview of OpenAI’s tools and directed them through interactive use cases specific to small business operations, including conducting market research, creating promotional materials, administration, and customer communication. The workshop was conducted in partnership with the Silicon Valley Small Business Development Center and the Governor’s Office of Business and Economic Development (GO-Biz) to bring AI literacy and skill-building to communities across California.

The Bay Area Council partnered with San Jose Mayor Matt Mahan, OpenAI, Google, and Anthropic last year to launch AI for All, a first-of-its-kind public-private collaboration to bring free AI education and tools to interested San Jose residents. Through AI for All, residents gain access to a single city portal with free courses, training paths, and certifications from leading AI companies.

Content is available in multiple languages and tailored for everyday use — from boosting productivity at work to exploring new learning opportunities at school or home. In-person training sessions will continue to be offered through AI for All to broaden access to these free education materials.
