At a time of shifting geopolitical lines few relationships will be more important than that between the United States and India. It’s a relationship at scale, rooted in shared (if imperfectly implemented) political values, supported by robust market economies, and marked by mutual strengths in technology and innovation. That doesn’t mean the alignment’s perfect. There are plenty of differences. But in an increasingly unstable world the US-India partnership provides a level of geostrategic balance and economic opportunity from which both benefit.
