Bay Area Council

Laurent Arribe serves as Global Initiatives Director at the Bay Area Council, where he leads the organization’s Beijing operations and shapes its international strategy. Driving cross-border economic engagement between California and China, he advises companies across sectors, from healthcare and climatetech to e-commerce and trade, on market entry and sustainable growth. With a focus on subnational collaboration, he cultivates partnerships among government, industry, and startup ecosystems to accelerate the development and deployment of global climate solutions. Through his work at the Bay Area Council, he transforms these collaborations into opportunities for business and policy leaders in both regions.

Previously, Laurent worked in international development as a consultant, leveraging data analytics and market research to design social impact initiatives for global organizations ranging from the UN to Chevron. These included projects such as building climate-resilience in Moorea and creating inclusive economies in Sub-Saharan Africa. He holds a B.A. in International Relations and History from UC Davis and an M.S. from UC Berkeley’s Master of Development Practice. His aim is to combine his experiences from the private sector with Triangular Cooperation efforts to solve complex international challenges.

As a French-Singaporean, he loves all things food-related and, after more than 15 years in California, jumps at any opportunity to backpack, boulder or play basketball.
