The Bay Area Council is one of the nation’s leading regional business organizations working to deepen and expand our economic connections around the globe, including in China, India, Europe and the Americas. Foreign business and government leaders, including heads of state, consuls general and key economic ministers, look to the Bay Area Council for insights and assistance in increasing bilateral trade and investment, as well as understanding the innovation ecosystem that makes our region the envy of the world. In addition to regularly hosting foreign delegations aboard our floating headquarters, the Historic Klamath, the Bay Area Council leads business delegations to countries around the world interested in developing and growing trade and investment opportunities. In addition, our Bay Area Council Economic Institute authors deeply researched reports examining our region’s global economic connections.
Key Priorities
- Convene regular meetings with Bay Area-based consuls general.
- Host annual networking-focused events, including the 15th Annual Spring Festival Celebration and the 3nd Annual BAC-GACC Oktoberfest.
- Host visiting government officials and business leaders for discussions on the region’s economy, business opportunities, and global issues affecting the region.
- Organize events featuring subject matter experts on countries and issues important to the region.
- Organize an annual November trade delegation, held in conjunction with the China International Import Expo.
- Organize a delegation to Japan for the 2025 World Expo in Osaka in partnership with the San Francisco Chamber of Commerce.
- Host the China International Import Expo California Pavilion in at the CIIE in Shanghai for its 8th year.
- Support new by the Bay Area Council Economic Institute examining the Bay Area’s global economic connections.
