Addressing Real Estate Professionals on Housing Crisis

California’s epic housing shortage was among the topics that Bay Area Council Senior Vice President Matt Regan covered during remarks at the recent San Francisco Association of Realtors Annual Conference. Over 300 real estate professionals packed the Koret Auditorium at the San Francisco Main Library for an in-depth conversation about the causes and consequences of the dire housing shortage and various proposals the Council is pursuing to ease the problems, including Governor Jerry Brown’s “by right” fast track proposal for affordable housing. The audience voiced strong support for any tool that can help increase the supply of housing and many pledged to reach out to their state elected representatives to urge them to do something meaningful and at a scale that will make a difference for the many millions of Californians struggling with out of control housing costs.
