Bay Area Council
Cornelious manages the Bay Area Council’s Sacramento office, overseeing state policy and legislation and serving as one of the Bay Area Council’s liaisons to the state Legislature and the Governor’s Office.
Prior to joining the Bay Area Council, Cornelious served a real estate officer and special assistant to the Deputy Director of the Real Estate Services Division at the California Department of General Services. In this capacity he managed the state’s real estate portfolio and played a leadership role in statewide leasing, disposition of state-owned property, construction management, legislative analysis, and small business outreach. He also worked as a legislative aide for several members of the California State Senate and as a policy advisor to the Chairman of the California Legislative Black Caucus.
A native of Los Angeles, he holds masters degrees in urban planning and public administration from the University of Southern California and undergraduate degrees in political science and urban studies from Loyola Marymount University. He also holds a California Real Estate License. Throughout college and graduate school, he interned for several governmental agencies, business advocacy associations and political campaigns. When not working he enjoys Shakespeare plays, playing golf, and cheering for the USC football team.
