The Bay Area Alliance for Sustainable Communities is a forum to create and advance integrated solutions that meet the social, environmental and economic needs of current and future generations.

We see the Bay Area as host to a prosperous economy, exceptional natural beauty, and rich social capital and cultural diversity.

However, we are concerned about barriers to our collective prosperity, such as the cost of housing, traffic congestion and unsustainable use of natural resources.

To advance regional sustainability, we facilitate dialog to identify shared goals and develop joint action strategies. Read the Compact for a Sustainable Bay Area. We also promote taking action in every sector that will make a difference.

Current Priorities
Support the Focus Our Vision effort to realize the promise of the Smart Growth Vision by implementing with adequate funding the Priority Development Areas self-identified by the local governments of the Bay Area.
