California Constitutional Convention

On August 21, 2008, Jim Wunderman, President & CEO of the Bay Area Council, published an opinion editorial calling for a California Constitutional Convention to address the state's dysfunctional government. An outpouring of support immediately followed the publication of the op ed from good government groups, legislators, opinion leaders, the business community and citizens alike. Everyone wants to know how to make a Constitutional Convention a reality and the Bay Area Council has been working tirelessly to that end. We have sought and established a panel of experts to advise on the process of a convention, which is made up of academics from across the state. A member company of the Council has lent great talent to the cause to write legal language, which is near finalization. We are in the beginning stages of forming a coalition and we are building a database of supporters for future advocacy efforts.
