Virginia Dawson serves as Bay Area Council’s Marketing and Communications Manager, supporting the organization in all aspects of communications, marketing, public relations, event planning, advocacy, public policy work and member engagement.
Prior to joining the Council in June 2013, Virginia served as the Development Director of Community for Education Foundation, an education reform nonprofit headquartered in New York City. There, Virginia managed the organization’s development, event planning and marketing communications. She also worked at a professional fundraising firm, Powered by Professionals, where she managed marketing and events for several nonprofits representing a diversity of causes.
Virginia received a B.A. in History with a minor in Government & Legal Studies from Bowdoin College. A native of Southern California, Virginia is thrilled to be back on the West Coast and living in San Francisco. In her free time, she enjoys lacrosse, tennis and skiing.
