Executive Delegation to China

Shanghai & Beijing
November 7 - 12, 2011

Please join Jim Wunderman, President & CEO of Bay Area Council, Janet Lamkin, President of Bank of America California, and other top California business leaders for a journey to Shanghai and Beijing on November 7 – 12.

Program

In the span of six days, through the Council’s partnerships, you will meet with top-level public officials, government and enterprise leaders, and heads of academia in both Beijing and Shanghai. Plus, you will experience these two ancient cities of China in an exciting, unique way.

Delegates will witness the signing of a major agreement between the Bay Area Council and Shanghai’s Yangpu District to create a joint, large-scale high-tech park. This venture is the first of its kind in China—between a business group and a government in China. The signing and high-level discussions are an opportunity for delegates to best understand (and potentially shape) the kind of policies Chinese governments offer U.S. companies. Delegates will visit the high-tech park area and its new cloud data center, cloud demonstration center, gaming hub, and business accelerator for small and medium companies. You will also travel on high speed rail to the city of Beijing and meet with central government officials and other Chinese state-owned enterprise leaders.

Delegates will enjoy vibrant nightlife in the former colonial quarters of Shanghai alongside the Yangtze River, as well as Beijing’s imperial architecture—not to mention the Great Wall of China.

Logistics

Lodging:

Delegates will stay at Hyatt on the Bund, the five-star luxury hotel next to the Yangtze River in Shanghai. Delegates will be chauffeured in luxury cars and buses from arrival until departure.
