Since discovering her love for politics in a high school history class, Genevieve Herreria has been practicing public policy and government affairs across the public, private, and nonprofit sectors. While putting herself through law school at night, Genevieve worked full-time as a Policy Analyst for Google Inc.’s Washington, D.C. office from 2007 to 2010. Prior to that, Genevieve served as a Legislative Assistant to United States Senators Chris Dodd and Paul Sarbanes on the U.S. Senate Committee on Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs. In addition to her three years on Capitol Hill, Genevieve has interned in the policy and press departments of former U.S. Senator Hillary Clinton, former Rhode Island Attorney General Patrick Lunch, and former Rhode Island Governor Donald Carcieri. She moved to California in January 2011, where she first served as a Law Fellow with San Francisco-based Public Advocates, Inc.
Originally hailing from the East Coast, Genevieve received a Bryce Harlow Fellowship in 2007 for academic excellence while pursuing a career in government affairs, and was named to the Honors Program and to a Happy and John Hazen White, Sr. Internship by the A. Alfred Taubman Center for Public Policy and American Institutions at Brown University. She received her B.A. from Brown University in 2004, and J.D. from the Georgetown University Law Center in 2011.
