The APEC Women and the Economy Summit is the premier event bringing together senior private and public sector players for a dialogue on fostering women’s economic empowerment among the APEC economies. The dialogue will support a set of policy recommendations that will be delivered to the APEC Economic Leaders’ Meeting, scheduled for November 12-13, 2011 in Honolulu, Hawaii.

APEC SME: Ease of Doing Business Workshop On Women's Entrepreneurship:

Each economy will select representatives from the public and private sector to attend a workshop on furthering women’s entrepreneurship in the APEC region.  This will be an interactive workshop with a focus on identifying and sharing best practice policies, programs, and initiatives to promote women’s entrepreneurship.  Topics include: Why gender matters to private sector and economic growth, environments that promote women’s entrepreneurship, access to capital, exchanges from women entrepreneurs, and final conclusions to be shared with PPWE representatives.  The workshop will take place on September 14th from 8am to 4 pm.
