Bay Area Council Scholarship Program Awarded $100,000 Grant
The College Access Foundation has awarded a $100,000 grant to the Bay Area Council Scholarship Program over the next two years. The Council’s Scholarship Program is designed to aid students of exceptional ability and often exceptionally-challenging situations from low- and moderate-income neighborhoods in the Bay Area, helping them realize their goals of a first-rate college education at the Bay Area’s best universities. The Bay Area Council Scholarship Program is at the core of the Bay Area Family of Fund's commitment to reinvesting in underserved communities in the region.


2007
Bay Area Real Estate "Boot Camp"
The Bay Area Council launches a two-week long intensive training program in partnership with USC to encourage urban revitalization and renewal. Sponsored by the Bay Area Family of Funds, the Bay Area Ross Program in Real Estate provides real estate professionals with the technical skills and networking opportunities to effectively undertake urban development projects in the Bay Area.

2006
"$75,000 in Scholarships Awarded"
The Bay Area Council announced the awarding of a total of $75,000 in scholarships to students of exceptional ability from low- and moderate- income (LMI) neighborhoods around the region who will be entering top universities in the Bay Area. The scholarship funds were initially seeded by the Bay Area Family of Funds, which reinvests its management fees back into LMI communities.

The Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC) recognized the Bay Area Family of Funds as an innovative community development investment through a feature article in its quarterly electronic magazine, Community Developments Investments (CDI).
